Why Navigation map update is required?

India is changing daily with development happening at fast pace. New roads are built, existing roads turn one-ways, yet others are blocked. It is impossible for lay users to keep pace with the changing landscape.

This is where MapmyIndia map updates for your navigation devices help. MapmyIndia's dedicated team of 750+ surveyors walk and drive the streets every day in an attempt to tame city information across India. They record changes which are then processed at the MapmyIndia centre. All changes are compiled and a new map release is made to reflect the existing landscapes.

So you reach your destination confidently, while others still get lost!

NOTE: Regular map updates are available four times each year at the end of months of February, May, August & November.

Step 1: Start the vehicle, wait for Audio unit to display home page. Then swipe right.

Step 3: In General Section, select the "About" option.

Step 5: Your System’s serial number, current NAVI app & MAP version will be displayed in Version Information. Please note the same

Step 4: Select "Version Information"

Step 1: First make sure that the navigation package and License files are completely downloaded. Both the files will be in zip format.

Step 2: Insert the "8GB" USB Flash drive into PC/Laptop and format the same. Extract both the downloaded files.

Note: Please copy any existing data from USB Flash drive to PC/Laptop, as formatting the same will delete all previous data.

Step 3: Create MMI folder in the USB Flash Drive. Copy the extracted .pak and .acp files into the MMI folder.

Step 4: Safely eject the USB Flash Drive from PC/Laptop and plug it to the Vehicle’s 1.5A USB port (Media Port).

Step 1: Turn the vehicle’s ignition ON. Insert the USB flash drive in the vehicle’s 1.5A USB Port (Media Port) as shown in the picture.

Step 2: Press "YES" on the message pop up on the screen.

Step 3: Wait for the Navigation Update to Finish.

Note: Please do not Switch Off the vehicle until this process is completed.

Step 4: After completing the process, the system will restart automatically. Now safely eject the USB Flash Drive from Vehicle’s 1.5A USB Port (Media Port). Repeat the ignition cycle once and check the NAVI app version and NAVI MAP version as shown in the below pictures.
